LOCAL BODY AERODROMES.
The Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Bill was returned to the Legislative Council last Thursday .-with amendments made by the Statutes Revision Committee. Two new clauses have been added to the Bill. The first enabled local authorities by agreement to combine to establish an aerodrome, control to be vested either in one .or all of the combining bodies, as jinay be agreed on. The other new clause gives special authority for the Gisborne Borough Council and the Cook and Waikohu County Councils to raise a joint special loan not exceeding £SOOO, pursuant to a resolution passed by each of the local authorities concerned. An aerodrome is defined as including a landing place for aircraft whether or not it has any buildings or other equipment on it.
