A supporting party of four men with three dog teams may get away within a few hours, as the temperature has risen considerably, and there is a warm sun shining. Much of their load has already been taken several miles up the Bay to the foot of the Barrier, where it tvill be picked up, and the first night’s camp will probably lie five o& ten miles further, beyond the top of the Barrier edge. If they go, they will he accompanied by the members of the Geological Party, who will assist them up the difficult pull that leads to the Barrier, twelve miles south of Little America, and will remain with them a day or two before returning. The supporting'partv "ill go inland for two hundred miles, laying depots for the Geological Party which will depart a few days later, following their trail to the halfway mark to the mountains.
