STIR IN ROUMANIA

QUEEN MARIE ATTACKS GOVERNMENT. United Press Association. — By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) BUCHAREST, October 16. A considerable st.r has been caused by a reported outburst by Queen Marie of Rumania against the Government. Doctor Buzdugan, one of the three Regents, died recently, and M. Saratzeanu was appointed as his successor. It is reported that Queen Marie wanted the vacant seat, which, it is rumoured, the Government was willing to give her, if Prince Nicholas resigned. This suggestion has apparently roused Queen Marie’s ire, and she said, in an interview in a newspaper: “I would never dream of replacing Prince Nicholas. If the Government considered that a predominance of the Royal family on the Regent Council is dangerous, that is a proof that the Government itself is seeking to rule the country by influencing the Regency.” The Government has asked Queen Marie for an explanation, and it is stated that if she confirms the statements attributed to her, the Prime Minister, AT. Mania, must resign.
