OBITUARY
WILLIAM JAMES PECK. The sad news wap-received at Hokitika last evening of the death at St. George’s Hospital, Christchurch, that morning of Mr William James Peck, manager for Messrs W. McKay and Co., drapers, of Hokitika. The deceased had been in poor health for borne months, but left on Thursday week for.. Christchurch on a business visit. He was taken ill while in Christchurch, and entered the hospital for treatment. It Was recognised that his condition, was serious, arid his wife went over on Saturday morning. The deceased was a native of Invercargill, but had spent most of his life in Greymbuth. He came to Hokitika several years ago and has been in charge of the business of Messrs W. McKay and Son. He was a well-known Freemason, and took , a great interest in Acclimatisation matters. Deceased was'about'‘.ss years of age, and leaves a wife and young family of two daughters and three sons, and a brother, Mr George Peck of the Railway Department, Christchurch.
