The Westland Sub-Union meets this (Monday) evening at 8 o’clock sharp, -xlvt. The death of an old, resident of Greymouth, Mrs Nellie Sotlieran, occurred yesterday at her residence,. Marsden Road. The late Mrs Sotheran, who was predeceased by her husband, the late Thomas Sotheran, leaves a grown-up family. '• • . Favoured with fine weather on Saturday afternoon, the Greymouth Bowling i' Club had a successful opening for their season, there being a large attendance of members and -visitors for the occasion. Teams selected by the President and Vice-President met in a match, there being no fewer than seven rinks aside. Perry, Rev. and •Mrs Nelson ’ Wright arid Misses 'F. Stapleton and - ,M. Sweney, while , Messrs Sweney Brothers rendered ,two enjoyable duets on clarionet and violin and Messrs Heinz gave two instrumental duets. | Slipper was dispensed- by the members of the two.
