SIR J. PARR
TERM EXTENDED. AS HIGH COMMISSIONER. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, Oct. 3. . The New Zealand High Commissioner, Sir James Parr, who had booked ’passages for himself and bis wife and daughter by the Mataroa, sailing for New Zealand on Stli. October, lias been requested by Sir Joseph Ward to remain in. office as High Commissioner till the end of December next. To this request, Sir James Parr has assented. It understands that apart from his own personal inclinations,' Sir James Parr is impressed with the great importance of the Dominion being adequately represented at Geneva in November, when the Mandates Commission will examine the year’s Samoan affairs, and also at the Dominions’ Legislation and Shipping Conference, which assembles on Tuesday next, and presumably will last till December. Sir j/Parr will represent New Zealand at both gatherings.
