AFGHAN WARFARE
COURSE OF REBELLION. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph .—Copyright.) (Received this day at 8.30. a.m.) LONDON,. September 18. The “ Daily Mail’s ” Lahore correspondent states Duratti tribesmen who at present are occupying Kandahar have not met with resistance from Habibullah’s- troops, a company of which mutinied and hoisted Amanullah’s flag and enabled tribesmen to seize a large quantity of arms and ammunition. it is believed an appeal for vengeance made by the widow of Amanullah’s brother-in-law, whom Habidullaii executed, has stimulated the revolt. The women of Amanullah’s family who are at present imprisoned at Kabul have called on Mohmand tribesmen in the name. off Allah, to save them from further disgrace and torture at the hands of Habidullah. A brother of Nadir Khan, a former Afghan Minister at Paris, is leading the revolt and has offered a reward of £187,000 for whoever first enters and occupies Kabul.
