A meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amatuer Athletic Association was held last night, Air AlcAUlly presiding. A. telegram from the Otago Centre stated it would be impossible t<V hold the New Zealand cycling road championship in that district if September date was adhered to. Air AlcVilly said he disapproved with the method of hawking the championship about the country and considered the centres to which the championships were alloted should carry them out. Air Bright said he was' certain Otago could run the race if they wished. The event is to be given to Canterbury, subject to acceptance and the date, not later than October. Permission was granted the AVangan-ui-Taranaki centre to hold the New Zea land Amatuer Atheletic Championship on Friday and Saturday, 14th and 15th of Alarch. Authority was given to set aside £2O for future overseas tours. Affiliation was granted the Kaiopoi Harrier Clubs. Leslie Bonner, Wanganui, was reinstated as an amateur cyclist. Reference was made by Air AlcAUlly to some trouble in Auckland through a feeling against the President df the Centre, Air Morton. He said it was to be regretted' Air Alorton’s good work should be forgotten and his mistakes magnified. He expressed the hope now the now Auckland Centre rules had been put in hand tho clubs would do their part in the best interests of amateur athletics.
