The course sot is from San Diego (California) to Cleveland (Ohio). Mrs Miller was 'forced to land north of Douglas (in Arizona), damaging her plane. She expected to resume on Wednesday. • MONTREAL, August 21. Mrs Miller re-entered the Derby after her ’plane had been repaired., (Received this dav at 11.25. a.m.) NEW YORK, August 2J. Fourteen women continued the Air Derby from Douglas (Arizona) with their nerves on edge due to the report of sabotage on the part of four participants. Miss Earhart refused to allow mechanics to touch her parachute. Miss Miller ncarlv had a breakdown after her accident. Her plane is still marooned in the desert. Slip walked eighteen miles through hush cactus and returned with fuel. Mechanics are end'eaouring to repair the damage. SWISS AIRMEN. NO HOPE OF SAFETY. Nino steamships l on the course have not sighted the machine. WOMAN’S LONG FLY. (Received this dav at noon.) PARIS, August 21. Mademoiselle Bernstein flew from Paris to Cairo, approximately 1560 miles* breaking the world’s record for light aeroplanes.
