VANCE BEATS GARDINI

AUCKLAND, Aug. 19
The professional wrestling contest between Farmer Vance (Canada) and Maeraci Gardini (Chicago) ended in the sixth round, Vance winning two straight falls. Vance threw his opponent heavily in the fifth round with a flying headlock, which sLunned the Italian,. who was thus an easy prey when the g.-ng sounded for the opening of the sixth round. The .bout was characterised by a great deal of spectacular work, and not a little showmanship. The crowd w,gs wildly excited at times, and hooted the winner at the finish. .
