LONDON, August 12. The Scouts Jamboree ended with
remarkable pageant 6f friendship. In the arena scouts of all nations mingled for the march past the Chief Scout, following after the massed flags of all countries. Lord Baden Powell stood in the centre of a huge wheel otf which the spokes and rim were made up of scouts standing at attention. Addressing t the hoys, Lord Baden Rowell, whose voice was heard clearly, told how some of those present belong ed to enemy nations in the world war hut he hoped they now would be returning to their countries to be emissaries of peace. Lord Baden Powell then buried the hatchet at the centre of the wheel and then clasped the hands of the nearest boys who in turn clasped the hands of others, the friendship circulating from hand to hand, right round the wheel and up and down the spokes. The scouts sang Auhl Lang Syne.
Tlie pageant made the deepest impression on Lord Baden Powell who was much affected by the demonstration of goodwill.
