COTTON DISPUTE
CONCILIATOR AT WORK. (British Official Wirelesß.) (Received this day at 11.25. a.m.) ' RUGBY, August 12. Mr Wilson continued to-day the work of conciliator of the Lancashire cotton dispute, holding an informal Conference .with the parties. The Legislative Council of the United Textile Factory Workers, representing all operative unions, met at Manchester this afternoon. On the ’ employers side a meeting of the general committee of the master cotton spinners will be held “tomorrow when it is understood a report will / be submitted on the conversation yhieh the employers representatives had with the Prime Minister on Saturday. No indication is given officially of the nature of those conversations or the .basis, which it is understood, the Prinio Minister suggested for bringing employers and operatives representatives into conference. There is a growing feeling that the employers will agree to arbitration. Five more mills re-started work to-day, at the old rate of wages.
