ANTARCTIC BOUND
THE DISCOVERY SAILS. ; (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, Aug. 10.~ Accompanied by the screeching of many . sirens, the ship Discovery, bound for the Antarctic, left Cardiff today at noon. The Australian flag was fluttering on her in a gentle breeze. The vessel made a majestic picture as she passed into the Adventure was written all over her. It was with obvious pride that her officials and crew lined the deck and waved their farewells to a crowd that had gathered at the Cardiff Harbour entrance. N 1 It was a coincidence that the Discovery , passed another Australian three-masted vessel which was entering port. There were mutual greetings as the Discovery glided into the grey mist of the Channel. All of the crew are fit, well, and keen. The ship was closely searched at the last moment, but there were no stowaways aboard. The Discovery proceeds first to Capetown.
