INTERESTING CEREMONY. EMDEN'S CREW VISIT ROTORUA. (By Telegraph—Press Association). ROTORU A, July '2. An interesting ceremony took place at Rotorua, when the Arawas met Captain You Arnauld and officers of the Emden at the Grand Hotel. A casket containing the flag flown by the Arawas during the war depicting a -Maori warrior defying a German, was locked in the presence of Von Arnauld and the Arawa Chiefs. One key was given to Arnauld and the other to the. paramount chief. The casket will be taken to the Maori Church and there kept, symbolising that all hostile feeling between the Maori and the German lias ended.

Many returned soldiers were present

Von Arnauld was deeply moved and spoke in ternis of deepest feeling and gratitude.
