WATAROA NOTES

A committee has been formed to lay down a tennis court in this district. I he supervision of the work is in the capable hands of Mr S. R. Heyward. The opening of the Golf Club was hold recently. ()iiito a number ol new members have joined. The Wataroa Athletic* and Axemen’s Carnival takes place on 13th June and a very attractive programme lias been arranged which is hoped will attract numerous visitors.
Wataroa lias been favoured with splendid weather during the past months. Reports to hand state the local dairy factory has had a very successful season, producing upwards of 25 tons of butter. The cream is now being collected once a week, and the manager saves the company much expense by putting it through in a hand churn.
Sportsmen are having a good season this year. Sonic splendid hags have been procured with the gun.
