The case for all hands looked hopeless, but the launch grounded on the point of the Peninsula and all hands scrambled ashore safely. THEFT OF MOTOR CAR. CHRISTCHURCH, May 14. Edgar Hale was sentenced to three months for conversion of a motor car, which lie involved in two collisions. For being intoxicated in charge of a car he was convicted and discharged.
