When it comes to providing excellent motion picture cntertninment and a steady series of laughs Hebe Daniels, Paramount star, has no equal among comediennes. Funny situations, lastaction and many thrills go together with .Miss Daniels and this production is no exception. It is a combination of “Senorita,” “Swim, Girl, Swim,” and’“She’s a Sheik,” her recent successes. all i dled into one and, although the story is different it is retreshinglv so and is real entertainment from the start right to-the finish. In the opening reels, one is led to believe that the Paramount star will lie given little chance to show her athletic prowess, for she is shown as a young girl who is interested in nothing else hut her health. One tiny germs disrupts her day. She goes to a sanatrium, of which she is the owner, on a desolate island, and there finds it in the possession of a gang of bootleggers, who are using it as a base of operations loi their* work. At first. Miss Daniels is led to believe that the “patients ’ are legitimate, hut it soon develops (hit she has landed in the midst of a tiny war between tnc boot-leggers and the hi-jackers. Here it is that the star is given ample opportunity to demonstrate just how healthy she really is. The finish is fast, furious and highly amusing. Richard Alien, who made such a tremendous success in “AYings. and who was seen with Miss Daniels in “ She's a Sheik,” again is her leading man, in this case a young novelist. Also included in the supporting cast are William Powell, as the leader oi the bootlegging gang, Charles Sellon, Heinie Conklin. George Irving, and Melbourne McDowell.
On Friday next Tom Mix in his latest Western drama “ Horseman of the Hills.” and opening chapters oi the world’s greatest circus serial “ The Trail of the Tiger.” starring Jack Daugherty.
