MORE ’FLU CASES
FROM -M AU I POM ARE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April (i. The Hospital Board this morning further considered tlie provision of accommodation for the Maui Poinare’s influenza patients, together with an offer made by the Governor-General to plaee Government House at the disposal of the health authorities with Government House staff to assist with the nursing. If necessary, he and Lady Alice would also assist. The Board, while* expressing appreciation of His Excellency’s generosity, decided to remove the patients to Cintra, a spacious residence in Symomls Street, formerly occupied by Sir Arthur Myers, Cintra will be fitted out with hospital requirements and patients removed there at 4 o’clock this afternoon.
AUCKLAND, April 7,
Two of the* officers on the Island steamer Maui Roman* contracted th<* influenza on Saturday.
The patients are now housed ashore at “Cintra.” They number 2d, < whom 12 are able to walk.
In addition, one of the nurses wlr* attended six of the men on board tlie “ Maui Pomare ” has contracted the disease.
The medical view is that the nurse caught the influenza because of the cramped and improperly ventilated conditions in the crew’s quarters.
