AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODYS PICTURES. VAUDEVILLE AND PICTURES. TO-NIGHT! TO-NIGHT! Rose and Kay, the Ha-Ha Boys, who are to appear in conjunction with the screening of “Honor Bound” at the Princess Theatre this evening, are direct from the world’s leading theatres—Fuller Hayward Theatres, Moss Empires (London), and Keith Circuits (U.S.A.) Although only originally booked for four weeks in Auckland, • owing to unpreedented success, their stay extended to 15 weeks. Realising the wonderful entertainment offered by these clever performers to be just the sort of amusement local audiences are clamouring for, the manage, ment of the Princess Theatre take pride in anouncing they have secured this exceptional vaudeville act, after lengthy negotiations. These boys deliver a brand new type of humour, and put over in a delightful manner the smartest patter yet beard on a New 'Zealand stage. They are singers of exceptional merit, and their dancing is a pleasure to behold. > They are exceptionally smart dressers, and brimful of personality—in short, two lads who are destined to become great favourites with local audiences.

A peculiar circumstance arose when Fox Films gave the stellar role in “Honor Bound” to George O’Brien, which picture is now attracting capacity audiences to the Princess Theatre. There is nothing strange about O’Brien being given such an important role for his excellent work in previous Fox productions proves that he can be trusted with any part, from character to light comedy. The unusual angle is the fact that ’ George is the son of Police Chief Daniel O’Brien of San Francisco and that in “Honor Bound” he is called upon to portary the role of a convict. Although this is sometiling different from anything in which lie has previously appeared, O’Brien feels that, he has been helped in gaining many valuable pointers on criminal types out of his father’s long experiences. The elder O’Brien has come in contact with many types of prisoners during the years that he has headed the police department. He is known to be a man who has always looked on those who have erred with humanness and understanding. Many men who have strayed into the wrong paths have been brought back to respectability through the kindness of Dan O’Brien. Bence, he was a great asset in helping his son perfect the latter’s screen portrayal. ' “The Chief” is proud of his hoy’s progress from cameraman to star and welcomed a chance to help by making many suggestions that were eagerly accepted. Estelle Taylor feminine lead in “Honor Bound” and others included in the cast are Leila Hyams, Tom Santschi, Sam De Grasse, Harry Gripp and Al. Hart. Alfred E. Green directed.
