SHOCKING ACCIDENT

MOTHER AND CHILD INVOLVED

W.VIEOA, Feb. 27

A shocking accident occurred near the salevards shortly after five o’clock to-night, when the infant son of Mill. Munro, a Public Works employee, wandered on the railway line in front of its home. The mother, seeing a train approaching rushed out, but was too late to save the child, both being seriously injured. The l>oy was run over and his arm severed. The mother was knocked over. Both were taken to the hospital, their condition being critical. MOTHER DIES. WATROA, Feb. 28. After yesterday’s railway accident, Mrs Munro died last night on arrival at the hospital. The child lost its left arm and is suffering from shock, hut is expected to recover.
