'Hie ,Canterbury J.C. Summer Aleeting was held to-day, the weather being fine, the track hard and fast, and the attendance up to the average. The tote investments were £20,495, as against £20,045 last year. Results:— Hornby Handicap.—(6) Evening 1. (1) Toawai 2, (7) Ripdale 3. Won by half a length; three-quarters of a length. Time Ijoo.
Trial Stakes.—(l) Chide 1, (5) The Viscount 2, (2) Solgele 3. Won by two lengths ; two lengths. Time 1.26 3-5.
Aliddle Park Plate.—(l) Pink Coat 1, (2) Goblin 2, (2) Rigmarole 3. Won by a neck ; three lengths. Time 1.12. Midsummer Handicap.—(3) Beau Geste 1, (1) Rapier 2, (4) Pride 3. Won by half a head; three lengths. Time 2.5.
Lyttelton Plate.—(6) Juniper 1, (1) Courtlike 2, (5) Straight Course 3. Won by a neck; two lengths. Time 1.0 2-o. -
Craven Plate.—(6) Arrowmir 1, (1) Meadow Lark 2, (7) Silver Coot 3. Won by a neck; three-quarters of a length. Time 1.26. Halswell Handicap.—(l) Great Star 1, (10) Arch Arrow 2, (8) Paper Boy 3. Won by half a length; three-quarter:-of a length. Time 1.12 1-5. Post Handicap.—(4) Buoyant 1, (3) Amor 2, (2) Paquito 3. Won by a neck; half a length. Time 1.40.

At the Caulfield races, results were
AVoodcliffe Handicap.—lvilaides 1. (Member 2, Finsbury ‘3. Thirteen started. Won by a neck; one and :•
quarter lengths. Time 2.20 J. All Unplaced horses are engaged in the Australian Cup. Futurity Stakes.—Mollison 1, Gothic 2, Green Line 3. Won by one and a bail' lengths; third half a head away. Time 1.26-J. The winner had a great reception. The Hawksburn Handicap was won by St. Ardent (7.9) by five lengths from Greenborough (8.4), and Alargaux (8.11). Time 1.122, a record for the race. The last four furlongs were covered in 47J seconds.
Stowe weighed out for the AVoodcliffe Handicap, but having suffered an injury to a tendon, was unable t~ star;. Frilford is under a cloud.
In the Futurity Stakes, Alollison and Green Line wore the pacemakers, the nearest of the others being Black Duchess and Abbot’s Lad, with Gothic in the rear, but rapidly moving up. Coming round the turn, Aiollsion and Green Line were still in front, tlie former beginning to draw away, while Gothic was coming through fast, Gothic contributed a brilliant run, but was unable to overhaul the champion Alollison, which won by a length and a-lialf. with Green Line half a head away third. Then came Black Duchess John Buclian and Cimbrinn.
ROSEHILL RACES. SYDNEY, February 24. Yesterday the Rosehill races were held, and the Flying Welter resulted Geste 9‘7 1, Chuquisaca 8.7 2, Broadcaster 8.9 3. Fourteen started. AAon by two and a-lialf lengths; three lengths. Time 1.27.
