WEDDING BELLS
HALSELL—ATKIN
The marriage was solemnsed in St. John's Anglican Church, Westport, l>y the Hoc. J. W. Bioyce on Monday evening of Mr J. Halsell, of Wellington, to Miss Alaisie Atkin, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Atkin, of Peel Street, Westport. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr A. Dunn, looked charming in blue crepe-de-chine trimmed with fawn with hat to tone. She was attended by her sister, Miss Rene Atkin, as bridesmaid, in fawn dress with hat to match. Mr T. Miley ■ filled the role of best man. After the ceremony a large number of guests were received at the residence of the bride’s parents, when the usual toasts were honoured. The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of useful and costly presents testifying to the esteem in which they are held.
AATLSON- ELLIS
The wedding took place yesterday at Holy Trinity Church, Grey mouth, of Alva Alary, daughter of Mr and Airs \\. Wilson, C6bden, to John, eldest son of Air and Mrs W. Ellis, of Greymouth. The Rev AV. Bell omeiated. The church was decorated by friends or the bride, and the wedding was choral, with Miss M. Parfitt officiating at the organ. The bride was given away by her father and wore a dress of soft white satin,, relieved with pale pink georgette, flared skirt, and tight long fitting sleeves. The veil was arranged over a coronet of lace and pearls, caught with orange blossoms; White satin shoes and stockings matched, and the conventional bouquet was in pale pink and white. The bridesmaid, Miss Betheldo Aliller, of Adelaide, wore apricot satin and radium lace, with a tulle cap to tone and black satin shoes and stockings to match. The little flower girl, Alva Aliller, niece of the' bride, wore a Brussels frock of azure blue crepe de chine, shoes and socks to match, and a tulle cap, and carried a basket of flowers. Air D. Ellis, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The mother >f the bride and bridegroom respectively received the guests at Harker’s Tea Rooms. Airs Wilson wore a navy blue and beige crepe de chine frock, with hat to tone, and Airs Ellis wore black •repe de chine with a navy hat. The newly-married couple left later for wanganui, Auckland and AVaitomo. The bride’s travelling frock was a French three-piece costume of saxe md fawn, shoes and stockings to match, with a small hat of fawn and blue.
