ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH. Feb. 10. There was large sale of store and lat lambs to-day at Addington, and over 1,500 W-Qst Coast lambs met a good market. Fat cattle—There was a small yarding, but it sufficient for the demand. The quality was only fair. The market opened firm, but it dropped to last week’s basis. Extra heavy steers sold from £lB to £22 2s (id. prime £l6 15s to £l7 os, handy weights £l4 10s to £l6 os, medium £l3 to £l4 ss, light £LO to £l2 15s. Prime cows sold from £9 10,s to £l2 10s, medium £8 os to £9 os, light £6 to £7 ss. Extra heavy heifers sold from £l3 5s to £l4 17s, prime £ll 10s to £l3, medium £8 10s to £lO 15s ,inferior £7 to ,£8 ss. Fat sheep—There was a large yarding, the quality generally being good. Wethers were in greater numbers than usual, but mostly ewes were yarded, the latter showing an easing tendency. It was a firm sale for the best wethers. Fat lambs—There was a fair yarding of lambs. About 25 per cent, of them represented the West Coast consignment. The market was sound up to schedule. Best heavy lambs sold to 35 Id to 35s 4d, prime 29s 6d to 325, medium 2Gs 9d to 1 28s 9d, light 24s 64 to 26s 6d.
Store lambs—These comprised an entry of about six thousand. Prices were steady at late rates. A large entry of store sheep met with a fair demand, and a good solid sale resulted. pig S __There was a small entry of fat pigs, and a slight advance in prices on late rates. Light choppers to £5 Bs, light bacon £3 5s to £3 15s, heavy £4 to £4 14s 6d, average price per lb. 6cl to 7d. Light porkers were 35s to 435, medium 44s to 50s, heavy 51s to 58s 6d, the average being 7d to 7|d. There was a medium entry of store pigs? The demand was slack.
