A number of eggs of the anti-rag-wortli moth will be put out to-day on a 'arm a lew miles from Stratford. .More will be deposited at the same place .during the next few days as Hie eggs ripen. This is the only centre for 'depositing in Taranaki and if efforts are successful other centres will be established.
SHOCKING ACCIDENT. TAURANGA, Feb. IG. A serious accident occurred to Arthur Wood, son of A. P. Wood, of Ohaiuti, yesterday. He was driving a load of firewood when an overhanging length struck a post and was forced hack and driven through the youth’s body just above the crutch. He was brought to Taiiranga Hospital and operated on last night. SUSPICIOUS FIRE. ROTORUA, Fob. 10. A four roomed dwelling in Rutland Street, owned and occupied by Andrew McFarlaiie Stephen, was totally destroyed by fire at 9.50 last night. The occupant was absent at the time. The Brigade found the building alight 'in several places. The Superintendent states tlie circumstances call for an inquiry.
