Lord Birkenhead to-day commented on the Hews from New York referring to his connection with an Anglo-Ameri-can electricity deal, through his acceptance of the Chairmanship of the Greater London and Counties Trust, Ltd. controlling seven leading power companies. Lord Birkenhead says: It seems clear tnat industrial prosperity boars a definite relation to the cost of electrical energy. It is proposed to make a complete analysis of the Acts of Parliament pertaining to the electrical n •dnstry, with a viw to simplifying the .conditions relating to the supply of energy on uniform standard lines throughout the country. He adds that the organisation with w.iieh he has associated himself is British, although it is associated with the Clarke interests of America through the Utility Power and Light Corporation.
