A BIG MERGER, (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Feh. 5. Four of the largest brick and pipe manufacturing companies in Auckland province have completed contracts for the amalgamation of their interests. The parties to the arrangement, which becomes effective on March Ist. are: R. O. Clark, Ltd., Hobsonville; Gardiner Bros, and Parker, Ltd. New Lynn; the New Zealand Brick, Tile and Pottery Coy. Ltd. New Lynn: and the Glenburii Fire Clay and Pottery Cov. Ltd. Avondale. The details of the capital involved win not he available until completion of the valuations, which are being made by an independent commission of southern experts. It is stated that the change will involve t’ e largest financial operation of its kind in New Zealand since, the breweries’ amalgamation in 1923. 'The new company will be known as the Amalgamated Brick and Pipe Coy. Ltd.
