TARANAKI OIL
SHARES RISING. (By Telegraph—Press Associat.on). NEW PLYMOUTH. Fob. 5. As the result of the flow of oil from the Blenheim Bore at New Plymouth, a rapid rise has taken place in the shares in the Reclamation Company on the Taranaki Stock Exchange. Opening at fifty shillings this morning the shares steadily advanced to seventy shillings this evening. The company states to-day that gas was still coming through between the seven and fen inch casing, and efforts were being made to force it through the seven inch casing to ensure the proper working. The boro was capped 'all day to-day. SYDNEY, Fob. 5. At. Hie Stock Exchange at this morning’s call, Taranaki oil shares were quoted at Bs, 8s Gd, 8s 9d cash, and 8s lOd. POVERTY BAY BORING. l GISBORNE, Feh. 5. The Taranaki Oil Fields Ltd. report for the week ended February 2nd. is as follows: The Gisborne' No. 2 well lias been drilled to 2235 feet in caving shale, Bin. dnmeter, and the casing to a depth of 2228 ft.
