NIGHT CLUB SCANDALS

POLICE WAKEN G TP. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, February 2. ExSergeant Goddard and Hi buffi are not appealing against their convictions. The police headquarters are concentrating on an unhindered sorting-out of the Night Club aitaif. ]t is stated that more than half ot the bank notes comprising Goddard’s “nest egg” of twelve thousand sterling, have been traced through the accounts of Night Clubs and restaurants. Meanwhile Goddard has legally applied to Lord Byng (Police Commissioner) to return his seized deposits, ■failing which he will issue a writ in the High Court. The early tightening up of the methods of police supervision of the clubs is expected on follow on frequent conferences between Air W. Joynson Hicks (Home Minister) and Lord Byng. It is most unlikely that anyone in future will have anything like Goddard’s free hand in a- one-man job.
