CHRISTCHURCH, Jan, 23. Percy Thomas Timmins, a well built man of about thirty-five years o, age, appeared on two charges of obtaining credit by fraud. He will serv-i a sentence of six months’ imprisonmen in Paparua Prison.
Charged with stealing three fowls, valued at £lO, the property of Minnie Brown, two men, George Cami and George A\ atson appeared in tiie Magistrate's Court before Mr E. D. Mosley. S.M. Both men were convicted and ordered to come up lor sentence with in twelve months. Each was ordered to pay £5, the proportion of the value ol the fowls. Claim was orderd to pay 3fs witnesses’ expenses.
Leonard Cyril Ferguson pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing a lady' handbag and contents valued at £2, the property of Grace Kenwood, at Lyttleton, on January 2. Accused was convicted and ordered to conn up for sentence if called upon within three months, the powder puff to be returned.
Ronald Albert, Hart, aged 20, for "horn Mr Goodman appeared \vacharged with the theft on October 15 1928. of one wristlet watch valued at 12/6 tiie property of Walter Watson Henry Toimont Wilkinson, aged ]9. (Mr Stacey) was charged with receiving oil October 15,' the wristlet watch from Hart, knowing the same to have been dishonestly received. Mr Goodman's application for the suppression of Hart’s name was refused. Both accused were remanded until Januarv 29.
