There are general references in the British press to the prospects of developing Australia’s radium fields, quoting Lord Knutsford. who asks il tho Government cannot explore this source, so reducing the price ol radium to noedv institutions.
The "Star” in an editorial says why should governments not encourage radium discovery in the interest of suffering humanity. A high research official, cognisant of Imperial possibilities, interviewed, said he would like to give an affirmative answer to the query concerning Australia, but expert knowledge demands an emphatic negative. The official added lie at present does not know anywhere in the Empire where .minim is product,hie commercially. S one specimens were good but it needs men than specimens to make mines.
