General Booth’s application for an injunction of 21st January will probably be adjourned to 25th January at the request of the High Council. Sal--1 . vation leaders do not show a disposition to compromise. The adjournment enables the preparation of a reply by the Council of seven, whose convenors, rin addition to Higgins, received writs. Xlie injunction application allegedly conflicts with the assurances that legal proceedings would not be taken, liecause they conflicted with the spirit and letter of the Salvation regulations. The Council is unlikely to sit officially this week, though territorial commanders may confer. Commissioner Friedrich is ill at Sunbury Court and cannot attend. INJUNCTION ADJOURNED. LONDON, January 21. Bv consent General Booth’s application for an injunction was adjourned and remains in force till f'riday. PMT HIGH COUNCIL’S REQUEST. / LONDON. Jan. 21. After the High Council conferred they aksed the Chancery Court ease to be ad'ourned till Fridav. 'I be interim •injunction meanwhile is to continue. The High Council intimated they hoped evidence would lie ready on Wednesday. ( Mr Greene, K.C., on behalf of General Booth said defendants had no doubt, acted with the best of motives, but harmfully. They issued ii document criticising General Booth for initiating proceedings. Booth acted on legal advice, not from personal motives. the constitutional position rather than narrow legal proceedings, -which bad to be cleared up. The application wAs granted.
