The body of Stephen Perry, manager of the Australian Film Association, who is on bail on a charge of conspiracy, was found on Roseville Golf Links with a bullet wound in his head and a revolver nearby. Perry was remanded week ago on a. charge of having conspired to defraud Edward Kidd of a large sum of. money. BLACK TRACKER. ATTACKED. SYDNEY, January 7. A message from Alice Springs states an aboriginal and bis lubra attacked a black trm kcr with a tomahawk and left him for dead. The man is not expected to recover. The police are scouring the country for the black who is an outlaw and is armed. The lubra first struck the black tracker, cutting his bead open. The man then completed the work, terribly injuring the tracker. ! LONG DISTANCE FLY. SYDNEY, January 7. A record long distance flight in a light aeroplane was created when Captain Grosvenor, A.D.C. .to the Governor of South Australia, flew from Sydney to Adelaide in thirteen hours, including three stops for refuelling purposes. The actual flying time * was eleven hours. This is claimed to be a world’s record. PRISONER ESCAPES. SYDNEY, January 7. The police are searching' for William McDonald, aged twenty-eight, who escaped from Long Bay gaol. Meanwhile McDonald’s wife is hiding in her house, with all gates and doors strongly barred and dogs set at the entrance. Sho is terror stricken, fearing lie will return and carry out an alleged threat of violence. Under the name of Billj McDonald, the man is a well known Sydney boxer.
