A Los Angeles message says that o were drowned when; the barge “Blue Sea,” fitted with a social gambling device, sank during a storm, fifteen miles off San Pedro. The gamblers were driven from pillar to post on land, and several weeks ago moved aboard a luxurious barge, refitted from an old steamer, anchoring beyond the 12-mile limit. They did a tremendous business with launch parties from the shore.

The authorities were scratching their heads trying to figure a method of their suppression, when early to-day tile' storm came along and smashed the vessel, : which sank, carrying the five owners to watery graves.
