SEVERE STORM
IN FITZROY VALLEY. BRISBANE, December 9. Rockhampton reports that a severe storm swept Fitzroyl River Valley today. two and a-lialf inches of rain falling in thirty minutes. The creeks in gullies became raging torrents, and a hailstorm in some places added to the' destruction. An elderly couple named McWhirter, wliiie crossing a creek near Farkhurst, when the flood caught their buggy, which capsized. A young man named Richard Bowles, .resource! both the occupants, though the old mail had a narrow escape, as ho was entangled in the buggy, and was injured. Bowles then saved the team and vehicle.
