Rebel ghimvari tribesmen again attacked Jellalabad, but were repulsed., by the Afghan garrison after a fierce fight, in which there were several hundred casualties. The buildings previously wrecked in the city by the tribesmen include the British past office and civil service quarters. Many new cars and buries the property of the State, wore burned. The road from Peshawur to Jelalabad is infested with raiding gangs, and is unsafe without escorts. Afghan reinforcements are hurrying to the area for an advance against the w’ild tribal country.
