* LARGE GRANTS PROMISED. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this-day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. G. To enable Cambridge University to accept Rockefeller Foundations promised £700,000 grant towards development of agriculture, biology and physics, and also build a. new. university library. Government have nowoffered £50,000-from-the public funds. The Empire Marketing Board also promised £50,000. The total cost ol the University’s developments is .£!,-. 952,000. The University provided a quarter of a million, thus a further £145,000 is needed to enable it to acquire the- Rockfeller grant.
