CLAIM REFUSED

WESTPORT, Nov. 28,
In the Warden's Court this morning, William Broad foot claimed from the Westport-Stock toll Coal Cov. £270 los as 38 weeks salary at £7 2s Gd per week.
Plaintiff is permanently incapacitated through illness. It was claimed that he had never been given a fortnight’s notice of the termination of the contract of service, and as deputies were on a given salary, though the contract was terminable on a fortnight's notice, lie was entitled to ment for a full year, as loss of tiine to lie paid for. Defendants alleged that plaintiff had been given eight weeks sick pay, and tnougli not formally told, from a humane motive that liis services were ended as there was no likelihood of his ever being able to resume work any more he was given to understand when the Inst payment was made to .him that liis contract of service had ended. The assessors who sat with the Warden, Air Aleklrum, found a verdict for the defendant Company with costs..
