GERMAN POLITICS
CO A I/IT lON PROPOSED,
'United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright).
BERLIN, Nov. 28
Herr Muller, after a conference with General Hindenburg met the party leaders with a. view to the formation of a Grand Coalition, which many, including Stmsemann, urge is more than ever necessary to present a powerful united front on reparations discussions. The Peoples Party is. strongly in favour of reconstruction and there is no objection from Socialists or from Democrats. hut the Catholic Centreists prefer a postponement pending the Party Congress on Bth December., when the policy will he discussed and a new Chairman elected in place of ex-Chancellor Marx. The German viewpoint is the need for a strong front, increased by the French suggestion that the Reparation Committe must appoint experts. A section of the press sees in the proposal a re-action from Locarno to Versailles, based on a desire to revive Germany’s international inequality.
