ZEPPELIN FLIGHT TO NORTH POLE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). BERLIN, Nov. 27. Eckner and Nansen discussed details of the Zeppelin’s polar flight. They decided it should he carried out under s' the auspices of the German Antarctic Society, which proposes two preparatory flights to the Antarctic in the new year, followed by a thorough investigation in 1 OHO. HUR LEY’S CRASH. PROMOTER’S OFFER OF £IOOO. SYDNEY, Nov. 28. A wealthy Sydney resident, Mr T. Role, who largely financed Hurley’s Monoplane, has received a cablegram from Hurley and Owens expressing regret at the crash. Mr Rofe now announces his willingness to contribute another £IOOO towards a now machine. The Air Board in Melbourne, stated that Owen’s resignation from the Air Fircc has been accepted. It was generally thought that the Air Board had granted Owens leave of absence to undertake the flight with Hurley., ATHENS, Nov. 27. Hurley’s condition is stated to be satisfactory. SOUTHERN CROSS OVERHAULED. SYDNEY, Nov. 28. The -Southern Cross engines have been overhauled, and a trial flight over the City to-day was most successful. Smith and Ulm were aboard. They do not intend to leave for America until the end of December, and will probably take a monoplane with them.
