LONDON, Nov. 11. Warner, in the “Morning Post” states:—“As far as batting is concerned the Alarylebone players are going from strength to strength. In my own opinion, they are the most powerful batting side ever sent to Australia. Not only are they rich in' gifted batsmen, but they have a variety in metlion and style, adding to a run making capacity. I recognise a representative Australian team will lie a different •proposition from any single State team, . but 1 do not seo bow a Marylebono team can fail to make many runs in the tests. They have met and mastered all the possible bowlers except O-xenbam and Beckett. The Australian selectors must lx; doing a lot of hard thinking. * “Aly remarks are pitched in an opti--«. mistic key. It must not be forgotten that Stoddart’s team in 1897-98 started with a blaze of glory and then lost four out of the five tests. Even remembering this, it must be a confirmed pessimist who does not feel hopeful of the present team’s ability to win the rubber.”
