WOMAN MISSING

SYDNEY, Nov. 13

Mystory surrounds the disappearance of Airs Aland Hill who failed to return home at Paddington from the city, where she was employed. The woman was living apart from her husband and bad been bravely maintaining a bomb for four children, the eldest of whom is thirteen. The children on Friday night went to bed disconsolately in the absence of their mother. Their plight .soon became known and inquiries were started. The missing woman is attractive and there is nothing to suggest foul play. 'l’he opinion is expressed that she may have lost her memory.

AIINER’S DEATH. SYDNEY, Nov. 13. A miner. Joseph Bedford, was overcome by black damp while- sinking a coal shaft near Wallsend, Newcastle.

A man named Thomas, working nearby, was attracted by Bedford’s young

brothers’ alarm. He went down the shaft despite the deadly fumes, but" twice was forced to come up owing to their effects. The third time he managed to get a rope round Bedford and hauled him to the surface, but he was„ dead.

MYSTERIOUS DROWNING

AIELBOURNE, Nov. 13

Airs T. Phiddan* and her' daughter, aged eight, were drowned in Lake Victoria, under ’mysterious: circumstances. They have been missing from their home since. Saturcjay. Their bodies were recovered by-the police.
