Another sensation was reported .yesterday. The police called at a house at Hurlstone Park and found Airs Luck Brock, aged 55. dead, with her throat cut. Her hushand, Henry Brock acted (jo. had a deep gash in his tin oat. Me was taken to hospital. It is believed he inav recover.
One statement says that Brook told a neighbour (a woman who answered a call for help) that it man jumped in through it window and cut both of their throats.
Another statement is that Brock’s throat was not cut when he attracted the neighbour's notice.
ANOTHER. MYSTERY. WOMAN MUR DEROUSLY ATTACKED.
SYDNEY, Nov. 4. Mrs Gwendoline Smith., aged 22 years, was found in her flat at Dailinghurst hist night with her head battered. and in a. state of unconsciousness. She wits taken to the hospital where her condition is now critical. A mvsterv surrounds the affair. Her husband suns that they had been shopping. and his wile returned home before him. When lie arrived borne, he saw m strange man. with a bloody face, who in reply to an interrogation, said that he had made a mistake.
The husband then went to his wife’s mom, and ho saw her lying unconscious. He rushed to the front, where the stranger still lingered, and asked him: “What have you done?” Ihe stranger replied: “It must have been (he .other fellow.” thus inferring that another man had been in the flat.
The stranger then jumped through I lie window and disappeared.
