HURLEY’S FLIGHT

SYDNEY. Oct. 31
Captain Hurley landed the Spirit of Australia in fine style at Oodimdatta. South Australia, at 2.5 p.m. to-day from Broken Hill at six o’clock this morning. There was a strong head wind for nearly all of the distance. The plane passed over a considerable extent of desert, which was pockmarked with straggling clumps of mulga bush, which Captain Hurley describes as “a wilderness of abvssinal loneliness.”
The crew landed nil well, and the i monoplane is “O.Tv.” .at Bi'okne Hill last night, Captain Hurley explained that he does not intend to take a serious view of any delays, as the time for the trip to .England, does not start until the monoplane leaves Wyndham, in the north of Western Australia. Captain Hurley intends to stay for a few hours at Wyndham to examine the engine, before crossing flu; ocean to Andir. in the Dutch East Tnflies. He ’will then go on to Point I iotoria. in. Burma.
