’-liilNiN’s sister Complains • .mi* v,.i oEMURBERS. ‘ . ‘ r (United Press Association—By. JElectric ? - i,! Telegraph—Copyright), , j ' ; ’ LONDON, Oct. 2. The “Daily News’s” Moscow corres- '■ "pondent says: Lenin’s sister, Maria Ulianova, reporting to the Editors' Congress, described a new persecution of the working cass. She declared: “Thirty-two of our village correspondents have been murdered in the past eight months.” The murderers are usually the richer peasants, against whom the present land policy is directed. Houses, crops and stacks have been fired. Many workers have ben beaten during the harvesting season. The correspondents are Bolsheviks stationed in the villages to fan class war, launch Communist propaganda, and invent slogans antagonising the rich and poor farmers. They report to the Soviet every occurrence,* including where harvested grain is hidden. They are Moscow’s eyes, without whom the State grain collection would be impossible. Their isolation makes their position precarious. Many of the Soviet’s similar ; correspondents in factories are likewise persecuted.
