At the Tniltean Games, in the first heat of the men’s 400 metres free style swim, resulted Spence (Canada) 1, Ault (Canada) 2, Lindsay (New Zealand) 3. Spence’s time was 5.21.
Final of women’s 400 metres swim : Millar (New Zealand) 1, Da.vey (Australia) 2. Laverty (England) 3. Miss Millar’s time was 6.10 4-5. DUBLIN. August 21.
Swimming 14 1-5 seconds faster than yesterday, Miss Millar brilliantly won the 400 metres final. The heat times indicated the closest race between Misses .Millar and Davey, but the New Zealander was never challenged. The girl was beaten by twenty yards, and had to swim hard to stave off Laverty, who finished two yards behind, third. Miss Miller reduced Miss Sliand’s Tailteann record by 28 15 seconds.
