He felt very sorry to know that they wore going to lose his services. He had been with them for a period of six years and everything had gone on in a voiy pleasant manner. The work had increased, tho buildings had been enlarged and the output had considerably increased, last year it having proved a record. It had been pleasingly noticed that the ALuiager had always been as one of themselves. Afr Wallace got oil well with the Directors and he got on well with the suppliers and this ho (Ah' A\ urd) considered the most important work of a manager. He was kind and obliging to a degree.. During the past six years he had not heard one complaint, on the other hand there was continual praise for his wonderful work of what was entrusted to him. He was sorry to lose his services in the district but ho must also congratulate Afr Wnllaco on his advancement. He understood lie was going to work lor tho Dairy Department at Wellington. It spoke well for the reputation lie had earned during his work at Arahura, that lie had been ottered the position of grader. AVe hope that he will continue to ascend the ladder and reach a higher position still. Air Wallace had shown industry and efficiency in his work, which could not be excelled. He did not expect tliey would be able to get a better man in bis place. If they got one nearly as good they would bo well satisfied. When he leaves Arahura he will be missed very much indeed. Air Ward continued that he would like the Directors to bestow some little token of appreciation ol the valued services rendered. Ho moved that the resignation of Air Wallace as Manager be accepted with deep regret and that, a cheque for £lO 10s he voted as a very small token of appreciation of his sterling worth. The motion was seconded by Air D. Bradley and carried. Air j. Bradley said lie joined with the Chairman in Ids expressions of regret. He was very sorry that they
were to lose Air Wallace. He was one of tho fairest men they laid ever had in the district and he would be very hard to replace.
Air G. A. Perry also endorsed the remarks of the Chairman. Speaking of Air AVallace from his angle of view he had always found him most pleasant to deal with. lie was blessed with n pleasant temperament. The quality of the article he turned out. spoke for itself for his ability. He could net remember n single complaint of the quality of the article turned out. He regretted his departure from tho district, but* congratulated him on his appointment, which was a compliment to himself and adds lustre to tho Arahura Dairy Factory also. Air J. King endorsed the sentiments expressed. He was very sorry that they were to lose Air AVallace who had proved such a capable and eflkieiit officer. He would carry away with him the best wishes of the district for his future advancement and the good health and happiness of himself, wife and family. Ah AVallace on rising to reply regretted his inability to suitably express his feelings. He thanked them very much indeed lor their over kind references which he deeply appreciated. Ho assured them he was not leaving without a heartache at the severing of the pleasant relations that had always existed. He would always cherish the pleasant relations that had existed between them nil, and if there was anything he could do at any time to advance their interests lie would only be too willing to do it. He thanked them again for their kind references and their gift, which lie deeply appreciated. APPOINTMENT OF NEW MANAGER.
