Hobbs, Tate, Larwood, and Hammond. who all are engaged in newspaper activities, were called before the M.C.C. Committee before selection, and cautioned that any reference to the probable composition of England s XL would be an infringement and would prejudice their own chances. Each was warned to discontinue references thereto, though they were permitted to continue general cricket articles on the specific understanding that they refrained from mention ol the tests.
