An inquest was held this morning into the circumstances .surrounding the death of Hugh Moore, aged 20. of Kimbiilton, who died from injuries received in a motor cycling accident on Feild-ing-Cheltenliam load. The evidence showed deceased’s cycle skidded in loose metal while travelling at a good rate of speed. The cause ol the accident was quite clear said the Coroner. Studliolme, two miles from AVaimate, was destroyed by fire this morning, the occupants, governess and maids escaping safely. Mr and Mrs Studliolme were absent in Christchurch. The house and furniture is believed to be insured for an amount in the vicinity of six thousand sterling. MEMORIAL HOME AFT RE. LEVIN. August 14. A memorial home for children at Berhampore was the scene of an outbreak of fire early this morning. The premises was owned bv the Wellington Ladies’ Christian Association. Tbc kitchen and playroom, with contents, wore severely damaged. Two bedrooms suffered somewhat and also the dining room.
