Parker forced the fight' in the early rounds, ovading Colby’s swings, and scoring well with body punches, but lie tired towards the end. The decision met with a mixed reception. McDonald beats turner-. BLENHEIM. Aug. 13. McDonald (10.11) of Palmerston North, defeated Leu Turner (11.2) Rai Valley, Wellington Central middle and li<dit heavv-weight champion, to-night in a special bout in the Marlborough Association’s Amateur tourney. It was a furious encounter, and was marred by a good deal of holding in the early rounds. The winner proved a clever boxer, showing superior ringcraft. He icfuseil to make the contest open, winch would have suited the Marlburinn. The judges disagreed. After four rouiu s. the verdict was in favour of McDonald. There was a mixed reception after an extra round.
