SEVEN EXECUTIONS
IN KENTUCKY GAOL.
NEAV YORK, July 13. There were seven murderers electrocuted to-day at the Eddyville (Kentucky) Penitentiary. Four of them were white, three being very young, and - .J ' tlie throe others were negroes. This is a record list for tho State of Kentucky. The condemned men were sullen, defiant, and prayerful by turns. All of them met death in a. condition of collapse.

At Toronto the announcement was made by Mr Robb (Minister of Finance) that he had consented to an agreement whereby the Canadian Blank of Commerce will purchase the assets of tho Standard Bank of Canada. The amalgamation on a share for share basis, brings the assets as the Bank of Commerce to approximately seven hundred millions of dollars. The market value of the Bank of Commerce shares is 298 dollars, and the standard value 277 dollars. The par value is 100 dollars.
